The Tweeter appears to have gotten his information from the CB Insights’ 2011 Venture Capital Activity Report. The report relays that venture capital activity hit a 10-year high in 2011, with $30.6 billion invested in VC deals during the year. This level of investment is almost double the 2002 amount.
